About
Based out of Detroit, Michigan, Ingo Swann is a dark electronic project named after the famously government-contracted psychic — an apt namesake for a band that seems to operate on its own distinct frequency. Featuring former members of Pity Sex and Brave Bird, the band is as much a product of friction as it is of vision: a frictional songwriting process that pushes and pulls until something undeniable shakes loose, built around Chris Liu's cavernous baritone and a sound that sits at the intersection of gothic post-punk, EBM, and emotional pop.
Ingo Swann announced themselves with Hunger, a seven-song debut released on Setterwind Records in 2025 that showcased a band with a wide-ranging command of dark alternative music. Their follow-up, 3 Poisons, marks a bold creative evolution — leaning further into synth-driven textures and EBM-influenced production while maintaining the emotional directness that defined their debut. Churning synths, earworm guitar melodies, and open-ended lyrics on self-discovery and suffering make for a record that reveals itself slowly and rewards the patient listener.
